Quick and Easy Crochet Dishcloth
This quick and easy crochet dishcloth only measures 6.75″ square. But you can easily adjust the width and length to your desired size as there is no stitch multiple. And with the triple crochet stitches, it not only works up super quick, but it’s a bit of an open stitch to help it dry quicker as well.
It’s also a great go-to crochet dishcloth for gifting to your family and friends. Fold it up neatly and tie a ribbon around it for a quick and easy gift.
This triple crochet dishcloth consists of a simple alternation of the single and triple crochet stitches. It’s great for a beginner to learn how to make taller stitches.
As you can see from the image below, the sides don’t look very even, but a simple single crochet edging will fix that.
I used up some scraps and ran out. That’s the beauty of dishcloths, they still work even if they are not perfect! If you are using up scraps too, you can easily add a few stripes to use up the smallest amounts of scraps.
The Yarn
I used a cotton yarn for mine, but go with whatever you prefer for dish and washcloths. Bernat Handicrafter Cotton and Sugar ‘n Cream are two of my go-to cottons for dishcloths.

The triple crochet is a tall stitch and gives you a “holy” fabric. If you find the holes are too big for your liking, try using Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton. The yarn is on the thinner side and will result in slightly smaller stitches. And it works great for dishcloths as it is durable and absorbent.

- Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (Worsted Weight (#4) – 100% Cotton – 1.75 oz / 50g – 80yds / 73 m – 1 ball)
- Crochet Hook: H/8-5.00mm
- Other: Scissors, Yarn Needle.
Finished Size
- 6.75" by 6.75"
Abbreviations
- Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
- Sc = Single Crochet
- St/Sts = Stitch/Stitches
- Tr = Triple Crochet
Instructions
- Ch 22, or any number that you like.
- Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and into each ch across. Turn. [21 sts]
- Row 2: Ch 3 (does not count as st), tr in first st and into each st across. Turn.
- Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first st and into each st across. Turn.
- Rows 4-13: Rep Rows 2 and 3. Fasten Off at last row.
- Optional: Add a single crochet edging by working one round of single crochets around the dishcloth. Or, any other edging that you like.
