Materials

  • Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (Worsted Weight, #4; 100% Cotton; 1.75 oz/50g; 80yds/73m) 1 ball
  • Crochet Hook: H/8-5.00mm
  • Other: Scissors, Yarn Needle.

Measurements

  • Gauge: 13 sts = 4″.
  • Finished Size: 8.5″ by 8.5″ with one round of edging.

  • WS = Wrong Side
  • Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
  • Dc = Double Crochet
  • Esc = Extended Single Crochet
  • FO = Fasten Off
  • Hk = Hook
  • Lp/Lps = Loop/Loops
  • Rep =
  • Repeat
  • Sc = Single Crochet
  • Sk = Skip
  • Sl St = Slip Stitch
  • Sp/Sps = Space/Spaces
  • St/Sts = Stitch/Stitches
  • YO = Yarn Over

Special Stitch Instructions

Extended Single Crochet (ESC): Insert hk in st indicated, yo and pull up a lp, yo and pull through 1 lp, yo and pull through both lps on hk.

Crochet Dishcloth Pattern Instructions

Ch 26, or any multiple of 2. 

Row 1 (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hk and into each ch across. Turn. [25 sts]

Row 2 (WS): Ch 1, sc in first st and into each st across. Turn.  [25 sts]

Row 3: Ch 2 (does not count as st), dc in first st and into each st across. Turn. [25 sts]

Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first st and into each st across. Turn.  [25 sts]

Row 5: Rep Row 4.

Row 6: Ch 1, (esc, ch 1) into first st, *sk next st, (esc, ch 1) in next st; rep from * across to last 2 sts; sk next st, esc in the last st. Turn. [12 ch-1 sps]

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in first st and into each st and ch-1 sp across. Turn.  [25 sts]

Row 8: Rep Row 4.

Rows 9-23: Rep Rows 3-8, ending last repeat with Row 5. FO or continue with the optional edging.

Optional Edging

With RS facing, ch 1, sc evenly around working 3 sc into each corner; join with sl st in first sc. FO.
