Finished Size

The finished size is 12 inches square, making it perfect for the Barbie doll. The size is easy to adjust for a baby doll blanket or any other-sized doll blanket that you need.

For this blanket I used leftovers of Red Heart Super Saver, a medium worsted weight acrylic yarn. It’s economic, and perfect for children’s items because it holds up to a lot of washing.

I used a single color yarn, but the v-stitch looks lovely if done in stripes. Use as many colors as you like, but if you work with three colors you can easily carry the yarn and change to new colors without having a ridiculous amount of loose ends to weave in.

Also, since this is so easy to adjust in size, you can basically use any yarn and hook size that you want. Just make adjustments in a multiple of three to get the width that you need.

Honestly, this is the perfect project to help you clean up your entire yarn stash,

The Stitch Pattern

This free crochet doll blanket pattern features the half double crochet v-stitch. It’s a pretty, yet simple, lace that your children will enjoy.

Instead of just using the half double v-stitch, you can also rotate the stitch with the double crochet v-stitch for a slightly different look. Here is what it looks like in a dishcloth pattern.

  1. Hello, I have a question…the directions say to repeat rows 2 and 3, but there is only a row 1 and 2. Can you clarify for me? What am I supposed to repeat in this pattern?

    1. Sorry Nancy, my mistake and it’s been fixed now. Rows 3 to 30 are worked the same as row 2. Thanks for letting me know. :)
