  • Yarn: Caron One Pound (Medium, #4; 100% acrylic; 16 oz/453.6g; 812yds/742m) Color: Light Violet, 2 balls.
  • Crochet Hook: H/8 5.00mm
  • Tools: Measuring Tape, Scissors, Yarn Needle.

Measurements – Size Chart

  • Gauge: 13 sts = 4″.
  • Finished Size: 37″ wide by 51″ long

Special Stitch Instructions

Extended Single Crochet (ESC): Insert hk in st indicated, yo and pull up a lp, yo and pull through 1 lp, yo and pull through both lps on hk.

Simple Crochet Lap Blanket Pattern Instructions

Ch 120, or any multiple of 2, to obtain the width you want.

Row 1 (RS): Working into back bumps, sc in 2nd ch from hk and into each ch across. Turn. [119 sts]

Row 2 (WS): Ch 1, sc in first st and into each st across. Turn.  [119 sts]

Row 3: Ch 2 (does not count as st), dc in first st and into each st across. Turn. [119 sts]

Row 4: Rep Row 2.

Row 5: Rep Row 2.

Row 6: Ch 1, (esc, ch 1) into first st, *sk next st, (esc, ch 1) in next st; rep from * across to last 2 sts; sk next st, esc in the last st. Turn. [59 ch-1 sps]

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in first st and into each st and ch-1 sp across. Turn.  [119 sts]

Rows 8-149: Rep Rows 2-7, ending last repeat with Row 5. FO or continue with the optional edging.

Optional Edging

With RS facing, ch 1, sc evenly around working 3 sc into each corner; join with sl st in first sc. FO.
