Clustered V-St/Small Shell Crochet Dishcloth

This crochet dishcloth pattern has just enough solid stitches mixed with open stitches to give you the drape and texture that you want for washing your dishes.

This cloth is fairly large for my liking. If you feel the same you can start it off with 20 chains, a multiple of 6 plus 2. For a coaster to match this, you could start off with 14 chains if you like.

It features a pretty stitch pattern, the clustered v-stitch, which I rotated with single crochets to make it a bit more original. I’m sure it’s been done before, but I don’t remember seeing it. If you’ve seen it, and know the correct name for this stitch pattern, please let me know in the comments below. Thanks so much.

This stitch pattern is absolutely awesome in the sense that it looks great in a single color. But if you work this in two colors and change the color after each row, the two colors end up in pretty columns. Regardless of what you choose to do, this crocheted dishcloth is perfect for gifting to friends and family.

I’ve included a short video tutorial on how to do the stitch in a single color.
