The finished size is for a small cozy, but you can also increase the size of the cozy by increasing the bottom diameter to any multiple of 4.

  • Yarn: Bernat Happy Holidays #4 Worsted weight yarn.
  • Crochet Hook: H/8-5.00mm
  • Tools: Measuring Tape, Scissors, Yarn Needle.

Measurements

  • Gauge: 3.25" over first 3 rnds.
  • Finished Size: Fits a bottle that is 3" in diameter

Notes

  • Work the fptr into the sc to the right. Left-handers will work to the left.

Instructions

  • Ch 2,
  • Rnd 1: Work 12 hdc in 2nd ch from hook; join with sl st in first hdc.
  • Rnd 2: Ch 1, work 2 hdc into same st as join and into each st around; join with sl st in first hdc. (24 sts)
  • Rnd 3: Ch 1, work 2 hdc into same st as join, hdc in next st, *2 hdc in next st, hdc in next st; rep from * around; join with sl st in first hdc. (36 sts)
  • Continue with increases until desired diameter making sure to end with a multiple of 4.
  • Rnd 4: Working in bl only, Ch 1, sc in same st as join and into each st around; join with sl st in both lps of first sc.
  • Rnd 5: Working in both lps, Ch 1, (sc, ch 3) in same st as join, *sk next 3 sts, (sc, ch 3) in next st; rep from * around; sk last 3 sts; join with sl st in first sc. (9 ch-3 sps)
  • Rnd 6: Sl st into first ch-3 sp, ch 3 (counts as first dc), work another 2 dc in same sp, fptr around first sc, *3 dc into next ch-3 sp, fptr around sc; rep from * around; join with sl st in first dc. (36 sts)
  • Rnd 7-20: Rep rnds 5-6.
  • Rnd 21: Ch 1, sc in same st as join and into each at around; join with sl st in first sc.

Handles:

  • Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in first 10 sts, *ch 40, sk next 8 sts*, sc in next 10 sts; rep from * to * once; join with sl st in first sc. (20 sts and 2 loops)
  • Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in first st and into each st and into each ch around; join with sl st in first sc. (100 sts)
  • Rnds 3-4: Ch 1, sc in same st as join and into each st around; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten Off.
