Materials

  • Yarn: Loops and Threads – Soft Classic (Worsted Weight, #4; 100% acrylic, 7 oz/198g – 354 yds/324m) Colors: Coffee, 1 ball; Fuchsia, 1 ball. 
  • Crochet Hook: J/10-6.00mm
  • Other: Measuring Tape, Scissors, Yarn Needle.

Measurements

  • Gauge: 12 sts = 4″.
  • Finished Sizes: 55″ in circumference by 8″ wide.

Special Stitch Instructions

  • Beg V-st: Ch 3 (counts as first hdc and ch-1 sp), hdc in same st to complete the v-st.
  • V-st: (hdc, ch 1, hdc) in designated ch, st, or sp.

Color Sequence

Rnds 1-4: Coffee

Rnd 5: Fuchsia

Rnds 6-8: Coffee

Rnd 9: Fuchsia

Rnds 10-13: Coffee

To change color, fasten off the old color. Turn and join yarn with a slip stitch in the stitch where the first stitch is worked.

If you’re starting a new color in the Rnd with the Triple Crochets, join yarn in the space of the first v-st with a slip stitch. Then follow the pattern as instructed.

If you’re starting a new color in the Rnd with V-stitches, join yarn in the 2nd stitch over with a slip stitch. Then follow the pattern as instructed.

Striped Crochet Cowl Pattern Instructions

Ch 162, or any multiple of 3; join with sl st in first ch.

Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 1, working into back bumps, sc in same ch as join and into each ch around; join with sl st in first sc. Turn. [162 sts]

Rnd 2 (WS): Sl st into first 2 sts, work beg v-st, *sk next 2 sts, v-st in next st; rep from * around; join with sl st in first hdc (2nd ch of beg v-st). Turn. [54 v-sts]

Rnd 3: Sl st into first v-st, ch 4 (counts as first tr), work another 2 tr in first v-st, 3 tr in next v-st, and into each v-st around; join with sl st in first tr (4th ch). Turn. [162 sts]

Rnds 4-11: Rep Rnds 2 &3.

Rnd 12: Rep Rnd 2.

Rnd 13: Ch 1, sc in first st and into each st and ch around. FO.
