Simple Seeded Crochet Lace Baby Blanket

The simple crochet lace baby blanket is worked up in rows with the seed stitch and an open stitch to create a bit of lace. It’s perfect for both baby boys and girls.

Best of all, this is a fairly mindless crochet pattern, which makes it great for relaxing at the end of the day. And, I’m sure this would also look lovely if worked in pretty stripes.

This baby blanket is not only very pretty in lace and texture, but it also looks great on both sides of the fabric!

The Stitch Pattern

The stitch pattern is a simple two row repeat. One row is worked with the seed stitch: a single crochet and a double crochet worked into the same stitch, and then you skip the next stitch to keep things even. The next row is then worked with a half double crochet and a chain space to create a bit of lace.

The pattern includes a simple edging for a boy, and a slightly prettier one for a girl.

The Size

The finished size is 29 inches square. But the stitch multiple is a multiple of two for your starting chains making it super easy to crochet this to any size you need to!

Refer to this blanket sizes chart and crochet this to any size you need from a cute little lovey to a full-sized afghan.
