Spiral Textured Seed Stitch Cowl

This crochet cowl pattern is worked up in a simple, yet pretty textured stitch pattern. I kept mine narrow, but you can easily do more repeat rows to make it nice and wide.

When I created the tutorial on how to skip stitches before and after front and back post stitches to help with my Spiral Textured Seed Stitch Bag I decided to crochet up a cowl using the same stitch pattern

Instead of crocheting the bottom of the bag in order to get the right stitch count, I just started off with the required number of chains. After the tutorial was completed I started frogging but quickly changed my mind when the idea of a cowl came to mind. However, after crocheting a few rounds I decided to rip it out and switch to a bigger hook.

And here it is, a cowl that wraps twice around me. As you can see it is a snug wrap, so you might want to increase the length if you want it looser.

It’s a different design as the edges are jagged, but I think it looks nice in a cowl.

I used Red Heart Comfort yarn. I chose this yarn because of the economic price, but any similar worsted weight acrylic yarn will work for this. As a matter of fact, something softer might give you a better drape.
