A Bullion Stitch Market Bag – Free Crochet Pattern

I couldn’t resist crocheting this market bag after I did the bullion stitch cowl and headband. I found the stitch appealing and relaxing to work with. Also, considering how time-consuming the bullion stitch is, the pattern actually works up quite fast.

The bag is perfect for the market, for toys, yarn or anything else you like.

Finished Size

This crochet market bag pattern is on the small to medium side, but you can increase the size and crochet up a large beach bag if you wanted to. Also, the handles are short, but can easily be increased to any length you want.

See here for more information on adjusting your bag handles.

The Yarn

I used Loops and Threads Impeccable. The yarn is stronger than most other acrylics and so I used it here. Bernat Handicrafter and other cottons are super strong too and might actually be a better choice. But, with the bullion stitch, I find that cotton material is more difficult to work with. Hence the Impeccable!
