Granny’s Holiday Crochet Scrubby Dishcloth Pattern
This crochet scrubby dishcloth pattern is shown here in a scrubby yarn, but feel free to use any yarn and hook size you have on hand. The finished size of this granny square dishcloth is 7.5″ across, but feel free to make it smaller or larger as you like. That is the beauty of the granny stitch.
The granny square pattern has been done many times already, but I have not seen it done in Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle yarn before made by Red Heart. And so here it is in some pretty Christmas colors. The scrubby yarn is made from 100% polyester and is similar to the eyelash yarns. And that is what makes this yarn ideal for scrubbing. It’s a gentle scrub, but very effective for pots and pans and all other dishes. The only thing to remember is that this yarn was made for scrubbing; so it’s not an absorbent yarn, but it’s a definite must-have for your scrubbing needs. Thus this is an ideal gift to give this holiday season.
I also crocheted this in a worsted weight yarn, which resulted in a 9″ square. With that said, you could easily do more repeats of the pattern rows for a 12″ square or continue for a cool lacy blanket. I changed the colors up in every round, but you could go every two rounds or add as many colors as you like, especially if making a blanket.
Other dishcloth patterns to try include this textured crochet dishcloth, the quick and easy crochet dishcloth and this v-stitch dishcloth, both of which are fairly easy to follow as well.
