Horizontal Puffs Crochet Dishcloth Pattern

Crochet a dishcloth or a hotpad with this horizontal puff stitch pattern. The puff stitch offers a beautiful texture, perfect for scrubbing and protecting your tables. It also makes this crochet dishcloth and hotpad durable, making it a great gift idea. For more dishcloth patterns, check out my collection on Etsy with 25+ Crochet Dishcloth patterns.

The dishcloth pattern is crocheted with Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton, and the Hotpad with Bernat Handicrafter Cotton. You can choose your favorite cotton yarn to make them. Just remember to go up a hook size to keep the stitches loose, especially for the dishcloth.

For the crochet hotpad, you can use the hook size recommended by the yarn manufacturer to create a denser fabric that helps protect your table. I only went up half a hook size from the recommended size, and it has enough drape to be used as a dishcloth as well.

It’s a new stitch pattern that I have not seen before, and came as a result of playing around with the puff stitch and slanted cluster. Did I invent a new stitch, or have you seen this before? Let me know in the comments below. A photo and a video tutorial can be found here: Horizontal Puff Stitch in ESC.
