Simple Picot Hair Scrunchie Pattern Information

This simple picot hair scrunchie pattern can be worked up in an hour or so and makes for a great gift idea.

The stitches are basic stitches, worked in order from short to tall, a picot, and then back to short again to form a nice pointed edge for the scrunchie.

Skill Level: Easy

Materials

  • Yarn: Cotton Fair by Premier Yarns (Fine, #2; 52% Cotton, 48% Acrylic; 317yds/290m; 3.5oz./100g) Color: Purple – 1 ball
  • Crochet Hook: E 3.50mm
  • Other: Hair Elastic
  • Tools: Scissors, Yarn Needle.

Cotton Fair by Premier Yarns is a beautiful and fitting yarn for hair scrunchies. It is a fine #2, which allows for a nice detail without adding too much bulk. With that said, choose any similar yarn that can be worked with a 3.5mm crochet hook.

Size

I used a standard hair elastic found at Walmart. You can work this around any size scrunchie and make adjustments in the first round as needed. The multiple needed for the number of chain-2 spaces needed in round 1 is 3.
