Striped Doll Beanie

Striped Doll Beanie

A quick and easy Striped Doll Beanie for the fashion doll. For this pattern I used the same stitch pattern as for my striped slouchy beanie. Only this beanie doesn’t look very slouchy.

The beanie is crocheted in a size 3 crochet thread, but for a more flexible material, you could easily switch to a size 10 thread and smaller hook. Then simply do more increases in the pattern.

Striped Doll Beanie

Skill Level: Easy

Materials:
Yarn: Size 3 Crochet Thread
Crochet Hook: 3.00mm

Gauge: Ribbing rows measure 2″ across once joined and laying flat.

Abbreviations:

CA = Color A
CB = Color B

Bls = Back Loops
Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
FO = Fasten Off
Hdc = Half Double Crochet
Rep = Repeat
Rnd/Rnds = Round/Rounds
Sc = Single Crochet
Sl St = Slip Stitch
St/Sts = Stitch/Stitches

Pattern Instructions:

Brim (Working Lengthwise):

Row 1: With CA, ch 4, sc in second ch from hook and in next 2 chs. Turn. (3 sts)

Rows 2-20: Working in bls only, ch 1, sc in each sc across. Turn. (3 sts)

Ch 1 and join the ribbing rows by slip stitching the last row to the free loops of starting chs. You might have your own way of doing it, but I like to join the front loops of last row worked to the free loops of starting chains.

Body (Working in the Round)

Notes:

Each end of row equals 1 st.
The yarn is carried on the wrong side of hat.
Turn after each rnd.
Do not work into joining sl st.

Rnd 1: With CA, hdc in first st, sl st in next st, *hdc in next st, sl st in next st; rep from * around; join with sl st in first hdc. (20 sts) Turn

Rnd 2: Hdc in first sl st, sl st in next hdc, *hdc in next sl st, sl st in next hdc; rep from * around; join with sl st in first hdc. (20 sts) Turn

Rnds 3-4: With CB, rep rnd 2.

Rnds 5-6: With CA, rep rnd 2.

Rnds 7-10: Rep rnds 3-6 changing the color after every two rnds. FO at last round leaving a long enough tail to weave in through the last round and pull tight.

Optional: Make a mini pompom for the beanie.

    Never heard of crochet thread. Looks like yarn in the pics?

      A thin yarn would work just as well … might even work better than a crochet thread. Off the top of my head I’m thinking Red Heart Luster Sheen would work beautifully… it’s softer and is about the same thickness. :)
