Crochet Cup Cozy Pattern Information

Skill Level: Easy

Materials

  • Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (Worsted Weight, #4; 100% Cotton; 400g/14oz; 650 meters/710yds) Color: Tangerine – 1 ball.
  • Crochet Hook: H/8-5.00mm
  • Tools: Measuring Tape, Scissors, Yarn Needle.

Finished Size: Fits a standard take-out cup.

Crochet Abbreviations

  • Ch/Chs = Chain/Chains
  • FO = Fasten Off
  • Hdc = Half Double Crochet
  • Rep = Repeat
  • Rnd/Rnds = Round/Rounds
  • Sc = Single Crochet
  • Sk = Skip
  • Sl St = Slip Stitch
  • Sp/Sps = Space/Spaces
  • St/Sts = Stitch/Stitches
  • V-st/sts = V-Stitch/Stitches

Special Stitch Instructions

  • V-Stitch (v-st): 2 hdc in same ch, st or sp. When you work a v-st into another v-st, work the v-st in between the 2 hdc that make up the v-st.

  • Working into back bumps.

Note

To reduce the appearance of a seam, keep your joining slip stitch loose when joining the closed half double crochet v-stitches.

Crochet Cup Cozy Pattern Instructions

Ch 28 (or any multiple of 2), join with sl st in first ch to form ring, being careful not to twist chs.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, working into back bumps, sc in first ch and into each ch around; join with sl st in first sc. [28 sts]

Rnd 2: Ch 1, v-st in same st as join, *sk next st, v-st in next st; rep from * around; sk last st; join with sl st in first hdc of first v-st. [14 v-sts]

Rnd 3: Sl st into first v-st, ch 1, v-st in same v-st and into each v-st around; join with sl st in first hdc of first v-st. [14 v-sts]

Rnds 4-8: Rep Rnd 3.

Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in same hdc as join and into each hdc around; join with sl st in first sc. [28 sts] FO.
