Lightweight Crochet Scarf Pattern – Southview

This crochet scarf pattern is worked up in a lightweight yarn to help you transition from fall to winter or from winter to spring. It is a narrow scarf with only 5 inches wide, but you can easily adjust that in the stitch multiple provided.

I chose pink for October, but choose any color you prefer to match your outfits. Or choose a striped design if you like to clean up your yarn stash.

The stitch pattern consists of an open stitch, single crochet stitches, and the single crochet cross stitch

• Yarn: Loops and Threads – Delicate DK (Light, #3; 70% acrylic, 30% polyamide; 4 oz/113g – 315 yds/288m) 1 ball. 
• Crochet Hook: G 4.00mm
• Other: Measuring Tape, Scissors, Yarn Needle.

Measurements

• Gauge: 19 sts = 4″.
• Finished Size: 5″ wide by 60″ long without an edging.

Lightweight Crochet Scarf – Pattern Instructions

Ch 25, or any multiple of 2 + 1.

Row 1: Working into back bumps, sc in 2nd ch from hook and into each ch across. Turn. [24 sts]

Row 2: Ch 1, (hdc, ch 1) into first st, *sk next st, (hdc, ch 1) in next st, rep from * across to last 3 sts; sk next st, hdc in the last 2 sts. Turn. [13 sts and 11 ch-1 sps]

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first st and into each st and ch across. Turn. [24 sts]

Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first 2 sts, *sk next st, sc in next st, backtrack and sc in skipped st; rep from * across to the last 2 sts, sc in last 2 sts. Turn. [24 sts]

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in first st and into each st across. Turn. [24 sts]

Rows 6-147: Rep Rows 2-5, ending with Row 3 at Row 147. [24 sts]

Optional Edging

Rnd 1: With RS facing, ch 1, sc evenly around working 3 sc into each corner; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten Off.
