Aiken – Cup Cozy Crochet Pattern

The Aiken cup cozy crochet pattern is worked up in a pretty textured design. Although pretty, it is not too pretty to make for men, making it a great go-to pattern for gifting. Simply pair it with a cup full of tea bags and you’re all set for a practical gift that everyone will enjoy.

Work it up in a solid color as shown, or add a few stripes to use up smaller pieces of yarn.

The crochet cup cozy is reusable, making it a great alternative to paper.

The Size

The finished size fits a standard coffee cup. It works great with all sizes but can be adjusted if needed.

The Yarn

I used leftover yarn from a cone of Lily Sugar N Cream, but Bernat Handicrafter or any other medium-weight cotton will work just as well. Just make sure to stick with cotton because it gives you better protection against heat and drips.

The Stitch Pattern

The stitch pattern is super simple, yet features a pretty design due to the various rounds of different stitches used.

Basically, it is single crochets worked in between rounds of single crochet eyelets and a version of the cross stitch. The cross stitch gives you a slanted texture, and it is made simply with the single crochet and the double crochet.
