Crochet Mop Cover

Materials
- Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton (about 16oz)
- Crochet Hook: G/6-4.25mm
- Tools: Scissors, Yarn Needle.
Measurements
- Instructions are given for a head that measures 4" wide, 11" long, and 1" high. You can easily make it wider or narrower by increasing or decreasing the beginning ch, and longer or shorter by more or fewer repeats of row 2.

Special Stitch Instructions
- To make the esc: Insert hook in stitch indicated, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through one loop, yarn over and pull through both loops on hook.
Instructions
- Ch 16.
- Row 1: Esc in second ch from hook and in each ch across.
- Row 2: Ch 1, turn, esc in each st across.
- Rows 3-52: Repeat row 2 until you have reached a desired length. Fasten off.
To sew the sides together:
- Starting at one end, count in 10 rows and fold between rows 10 and 11. With a yarn needle and same yarn sew both sides together. Repeat this process on other end and weave in all loose ends. Note: You can adjust where you fold as needed. You want the cover to fit snug on the mop with enough room for it to slip on and off.

How do you use these? Do you get the wet to use? Do they stretch out when they are wet?
Hi Sabrina, yes they do stretch out, but believe it or not they do stay on for dusting and mild scrubbing even when wet. The key is to make them fit tight over the mop. Another tip is to crochet tight or use a smaller hook than recommended by yarn to help eliminate stretch.
I’ve seen these mops in all different sizes, so you may need to make adjustments to the pattern for it to fit properly. As a last resort, you can always use the tabs to secure, however, that will quickly wear them out.
