On the Ball Reversible Crochet Lapghan

Not only is this ball stitch crochet lapghan pattern pretty, but it is also cozy, adjustable, and perfect for any room in the home. You choose which side you prefer to display, as both sides are beautiful.

The puffy texture on this crochet lapghan makes it the perfect blanket for playing on the floor or for snuggling on the couch.

If you can make the puff stitch, then you can make this, as the ball stitch is similar to the puff stitch. The only difference is that the ball stitch is worked in between single crochet stitches to really make the puff stitch pop.

One thing about the ball stitch is that the puffs naturally go to the back of the fabric. I would have LOVED to have the beautiful puffs on the front side, but even when pushing them to the front, they ended up on the “wrong” side.

Changing Colors

This pattern requires that you change color before and after each puff stitch.

To Change Color Before the Puff Stitch: Work the previous single crochet stitch as normal until the last step and you have two loops left on the hook; drop the old color, pick up the new color, and draw through both loops to complete the single crochet stitch.

To Change Color After the Puff Stitch: Work the puff stitch as normal, drawing up loops until you have 9 loops on the hook; drop the old color, pick up the new color, and draw through all 9 loops to complete the puff stitch.

Carry unused colors at the back, working over the yarn as you crochet along the row. Fasten off CB and CC after each row is complete.
