Lacy Crochet Round Baby Blanket
This lacy crochet round baby blanket is made with a super bulky yarn, which helps to speed up the crocheting process. Depending on how fast you crochet, the baby blanket can be crocheted up in less than a day making it great for those last minute gifts. A Bigger version of this blanket is available here.
The blanket is slightly textured in the solid areas and has a nice ruffled edge. It’s perfect for both baby boys and girls, and makes for a lovely playmat for the floor. That’s one great thing about thick yarn such as this because it offers up a lot of padding for them.
About the Yarn
The yarn is Bernat Baby, which is a super bulky #6 yarn. It is made of 100% polyester. It is not a natural material, and it does have a funny smell to it. Polyester can cause allergic reactions in some, so you might want to keep a close eye to make sure your baby doesn’t have a reaction.

Instructions
- Ch 4. Join with sl st to form circle.
- Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 3 sc into each ch. Join with sl st. [12 sts]
- Rnd 2: Ch 1, working in bl only, work 2 sc into each st. Join with sl st. [24 sts]
- Rnd 3: Ch 1, working in both lps, (sc, ch 2) in first st, sk next st, *(sc, ch 2) in next st, sk next st, repeat from * around. Join with sl st. [12 ch-2 lps
- Rnd 4: Sl st into lp, ch 1, (sc, ch 3) in same lp and in each lp around. Join with sl st. [12 ch-3 lps]
- Rnd 5: Ch 1, work 3 hdc in first st, sc in next lp, *3 hdc in next st, sc in next lp, repeat from * around. Join with sl st. [48 sts]
- Rnd 6: Ch 1, working in bl only, sc in first 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, *sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with sl st. [60 sts]
- Rnd 7: Ch 1, working in bl only, sc in first 4 sts, *2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts, repeat from * around. Join with sl st. [72 sts]

What’s the increase repetition to make this bigger please?
Lynsey, I think I just free-formed this one and wrote out what I did. However, I will try and see if I can figure it out and make a repeatable pattern. I’ll be using worsted weight yarn though as the Bernat Baby Blanket gives me headaches. I’ll need about a month or longer to get it done and written up. :) Thanks so much for your patience.

Yes, it is worked in a chunky yarn, so it comes out baby size. I’m working on a worsted weight version and am about halfway done. Hopefully I’ll be able to post soon.
