Lacy Textured Dishcloth Crochet Pattern

This lacy textured dishcloth crochet pattern is given in one size to measure about 7.25 by 7.25 inches square. But in a simple multiple of two, you can increase or decrease this to any size you need for use throughout the home. Thus it’s easy to decorate your entire kitchen by making a coaster and a placemat.

Crochet it in a solid color as shown, or mix and match and use up your left-over scraps. Either way, it’s sure to be loved by everyone, and it makes for a great gift idea. Above it is shown in three colors that are changed after each row.

Lacy Textured Dishcloth Crochet Pattern

For dishcloths and washcloths I always recommend a dishcloth cotton yarn. These cottons are much tougher and hold up much better during tough scrubbing jobs.

Bernat Handicrafter is a good choice, but there are many other worsted weight cotton yarn options that work just as well.

You can use one small ball of a single color. Or use leftovers changing your colors up as desired. This textured crochet dishcloth pattern is worked up in three colors that are changed after every row, but the possibilities are endless.

The Stitch Pattern

The stitch pattern is done with the half double crochet and slip stitch in one row, also known as the crunch stitch. Then the single crochet and chain 1 spaces in the next row to give it a nice lacy and textured fabric.

The textured dishcloth not only looks great, but the textures are perfect for tough scrubbing needs. And the bit of lace helps for it to dry quicker after use.

And when you work this in three colors, the textures and color design looks great on both sides! Below the wrong side is shown.
