These intermediate crochet patterns are for those who have mastered the basics of crocheting and reading patterns. Many of these patterns use the basic crochet stitches to make up beautifully textured stitches and lace designs.
To make these intermediate level crochet projects you will also need to be comfortable with making frequent color changes and shaping your projects by increasing and decreasing.

Free crochet pattern for a puffy spike stitch wine bottle cozy. The cozy fits a 3″ diameter bottle, but can be adjusted to fit any size. This one is crocheted in Christmas colors, but I think it would be just as pretty in any other color combination.
This cabled diamonds wine bottle cozy is designed to fit a wine bottle that measures 3″ in diameter. However, instructions are given to adjust the circumference to any size that you need. It’s great for giving gifts during the Christmas holidays, or at any time of the year.
Free crochet pattern for a bead and lace circular vest. The crochet vest pattern is available in 3 different sizes including extra small, medium and large.
FREE crochet pattern for an interlocked market bag. This bag has a lot of vertical stretch, but if you pack it full enough at the bottom it will stretch horizontal, making it the perfect crocheted bag for your groceries.
Choose any two colors to crochet this tote bag. I love the fall, but Christmas, spring or cheerful summer colors would look just as great!
A free crochet pattern for a hooded scarf with pockets. The crochet pattern provides instructions that allow you to make the hooded scarf any size that you want.
Free crochet pattern for a broomstick lace chunky crochet scarf pattern. Due to the nature of the scarf pattern, you could even make a shawl or a blanket by increasing the number of beginning chains.
Free crochet pattern for a loopy scarf that is extremely cozy, as the yarn is thick and both sides are padded with loops. The loopy scarf is made in two pieces so the loops on both ends of the scarf will drape down when wearing it.
Here is a free crochet pattern for a football placemat. I used Red Heart Comfort Yarn, but you can use any other yarn that matches the gauge.
Free crochet pattern for a cheerleading horn placemat. This crochet pattern requires the ability to work with multiple strands of yarn at the same time. The extra yarn is carried along the top row until it is needed.
